Recap

A couple weekends ago was a big weekend for us. We had a JAMMED packed weekend of firsts (ok well just two firsts, but they were big in our house-and filled the entire house with excitement, mostly for me!)

On October 16th Tessa got her first hair cut ever. (well not ever...I did cut her hair a few months ago and did a hack job.) This was her first professional hair cut. We weren't quite sure how she would do. She actually ended up doing an awesome job. She sat really well and let Beth cut away. We got a couple inches cut off. Just enough for the curl to come back. Here is a picture of her getting it cut.

The next day I ran my first half marathon. It was an amazing experience that I wish I could have done better. (I happened to be super sick the week before and missed an entire week of training...I still could have trained better even before that week!) I ended up finishing 2:49, even with walking the last 3.5 miles. For Dam to Dam, which is a half mile shorter than a half marathon, I ran 2:32. So even with the amount of walking I did, I still rocked it out. I may do another one again. Someday. Here are a couple of pictures, one of Mary and I that her husband took and one after I finished. (Pretty crazy story--Travis and Mary's husband Jon and her sister randomly ended up on the same corner right next to each other before the race started.)

(Sorry for the poor quality...it is from the marathonfotos website.)

Later on that same Sunday we had our family pictures taken by a friend. I have followed Heidi's blog and photography for awhile. Here is a link to our preview. They turned out great! Thanks Heidi for being awesome.

So sorry for being away for so long. Happy Monday everyone!
