On the 3rd, Travis and I got up early and went to Royal to run the Royal Fun run. Neither of us did very well, but enjoyed getting in a run. After the run we headed back up to the lake house to spend time with the family. Since it was supposed to be crappy on the 4th, we planned to go down to the beach and play in the small pool. It was still pretty windy but was really a nice day to be outside.
Tessa's first reaction to the beach was excitment. When we took her down to the water, she was a little less excited. Then when the first wave almost knocked her over she was mad. She did eventually start to laugh and enjoy the water. We didn't get her out there to swim but enjoyed chilling by the dock and wading in the water.

The 4th turned out to be a somewhat nice day. We spent the day in the little pool again, colored on the sidewalk, did some fishing, and just hung out. Lost Island also has a really neat nature center. After we had eaten lunch, the whole crew went over to the nature center to check it out.
My dad and brothers are very into fireworks. My dad always puts on such a great show. This year was no different. Tessa, my mom, my neice and nephew, and I sat inside (1. the bugs were awful. 2. Tessa was freaked out by the noise.). We had a great view of the show. We even had a few boats camp out in the lake to watch them as well.
